At our April meeting, Chris Pearce, a local floristry tutor, demonstrated how to create an Easter cake using flowers. Our members came well equipped with small roses and pinks plus a colourful selection of Easter chicks, rabbits and chocolate eggs. Using circular Oasis poi sy pads we had much fun covering the outer surface with hay which was secured using mossing pins and ribbon. The top surface was covered with the flower heads and easter decorations. The floral Easter cakes looked amazing (see the photos in the 2017 Gallery) and our members thoroughly enjoyed creating a cake that contained zero calories.
