Pimms, plants & umbrellas

Imagine the scene: Pimms, plants and umbrellas. This was certainly the case at out May meeting, although the umbrellas were not the pretty paper cocktail variety sometimes found in glasses of Pimms; they were heavy duty, torrential rain type umbrellas. Twenty two members gather at Freeland Gardens and were totally unphased by the downpour as we spent a very happy time planting up baskets and tubs, having been given free rein to choose whatever plants we wanted from Freeland Gardens' extensive stock. Tim Webster and Sue Hooper were on hand to advise on type and colour of plants to be used in our containers, for which many thanks. This is the second year we have held this event and it looks like becoming an annual event. Thanks also to Tim for the generous donation to WI funds.
